Amy is an author, coach, and speaker. She’s a southerner at heart but is currently braving the winters of Chicago. She’s a biological mom, adoptive mom, heart mom, and a mom of child loss. Your teaching and knowledge of God’s word allowed me to see a fuller, more beautiful Jesus than I’d ever seen.

Being on your staff gave me a closer view of you as a person, leader, and pastor. I was just one of so many, yet you remembered little details of my life and would ask me about NC and my time on staff with Campus Outreach.

You took time with our staff to teach us specifically and intentionally. I’ll treasure those staff lunches when I’d seek to get a seat at your table. I knew one day I wouldn’t have the privilege anymore and I had to soak up your face to face wisdom while I could.

You and Kathy reached out when Hudson passed away to say you were weeping with us. I’ll never forget this.

My kids’ know your voice as they’ve heard it their whole little lives.

We’ve gone through multiple sizes of their “Tim Keller shoes.” (Swipe to see) It’s the little things you notice. May they walk in your footsteps.

Tim’s life and words have impacted thousands and I’m thankful I am one of them.

I pray I will also help others see the beauty of a Jesus. Grace truly does change everything, including how we say goodbye.

Give my Hudson a hug, Pastor Tim.

You taught us so well. Enjoy Jesus.

Seven years. That’s a lot of days without my b

Seven years.

That’s a lot of days without my boy.

Would he be reserved or outgoing? Would he ask a million questions or curiously seek out answers? Would he be a jokester or a little more behind the scenes? Would his big boy face have outgrown those award-winning cheeks? Would he look more like his mama or daddy at 7? What would his laugh sound like?

It doesn’t get easier. I’ve just gotten stronger at carrying the weight of grief and I’ll get stronger as the years go on. But, I’ll always wonder about my boy and ask these questions.

I was asked today, “Who is Jesus?”

The first word that came out of my mouth was, “Everything.”

He really is. Because of Jesus, I can carry this love, this grief and still be whole. I can live wholeheartedly with joy and tears.

My Hudson knows fully that Jesus is everything. I’m still learning, growing stronger grief muscles, and asking questions.

One day closer. One year closer.
